Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, appeared on a surprise interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Monday night, where she answered a question that’s been on everyone’s mind: Why did she not have a baby with Prince Harry?
“We just wanted to really give that time and space and whatever it is that you want to do in your own timeline of life, in your own family, why is it that you choose not to?” the talk show host asked. She explained that Meghan is a strong woman, and having a baby is not going to defeat her strength. The difference is, they have not decided yet whether or not they’re going to have children.
“In terms of the choice not to, I don’t regret it at all. I am so happy I could have my experience with my husband and put that all on pause and said, ‘Wow. I’m so lucky that I get to focus on my husband and really create that life together with him, and then take the time for that family journey,’” the former Suits actress said.
The two had just arrived on the East Coast from Ohio, where they had given a very public push to the Republican candidate for Ohio governor, Mike DeWine, for who had chosen the 51-year-old for his wife, as well as their own “soft,” non-sharper branch of the royal family.
In other Meghan news, her tour with Prince Harry through Oxfordshire is drawing to a close, as the couple has to go their separate ways. They will return to England from their Scottish tour in the next few days.
