As Kenney lobbies Tory to run for mayor again in 2019, Tory responds: ‘I’ve been clear from the start’
In their first Face-to-Face meeting since Mayor John Tory announced his candidacy for reelection last week, U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao met with Tory at City Hall this week to discuss the city’s premier transportation network.
Tory signaled at a press conference Monday morning that he would likely run again. Mr. Tory told CNN Politics’ Sara Ganim that he “is going to continue to do that,” and that he has asked his wife to lay out his vision for city government in the weeks ahead.

Mayor Tory has faced a whirlwind of criticism since his decision, with some calling him a weak leader. Tory maintains his leadership isn’t a problem, saying: “I’ve been clear from the start I was going to run.”
