Tiger King, the former World Series of Poker champion from Michigan, who unexpectedly showed up at his ex-wife’s house Monday with suspicious fluid dripping from his mouth, was taken to a hospital on Tuesday after tests confirmed he has cancer, reports the Detroit Free Press.

Exotic has received five rounds of radiation and multiple doses of chemotherapy but is still not in full remission, say his doctors at Detroit’s Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.

The eight-time World Series of Poker champion, who began playing the poker game at age 7 in his home state of Michigan, was having trouble chewing his food recently. The next morning, on his way to work, he suffered a seizure at the driver’s side window and police found that Exotic had begun to bleed from his mouth.

Exotic’s ex-wife, who has also undergone emergency surgery for cancer, has been at his side since he was admitted to hospital Monday. The 46-year-old retired professional is also suing the couple’s ex-husband for defamation in the divorce case.
