The Academy of Country Music is pretty confident in their stadium-selling hall of fame status. They have just announced a stadium-level upgrade to the ACM Awards, and are eyeing Amazon Prime Video as a possible revenue source.
Here is how it works: In 2022, the awards will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, home of the Dallas Cowboys. For the first time, viewers will be able to stream the awards through Amazon Prime Video.
It will be streaming from live and selected pre-shows from 7PM to 11PM Eastern time. Fans can then save shows or watch later the way they have seen past years.
It will also include live red carpet interviews and pre-show coverage of the 60th Annual ACM Awards.
The ACM Awards were expanded to recognize country music’s elite when they first went to an annual scale in 1999. Over 10 years they’ve sold some 70 million tickets. Their success with overseas satellite streaming rights led to their early partnerships with TV and digital broadcasters. Over one billion dollars have been earned through these agreements over the last 11 years.
